Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in an LA Traffic Collision

The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in the state of California aged 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The influential video game developer died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, according to.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and all those touched by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
