Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.

Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
